Guidelines for the use of the Internet

Many Authorities or institutions set specific guidelines for Internet use. These regulate e.g.

  • the private use of Internet services,
  • the handling of sensitive and confidential data,
  • the responsibility of employees for data protection and data security,
  • prohibitions on the installation of software,
  • prohibitions on setting up and operating unauthorized Internet access,
  • logging of e-mail and Internet usage.
Good to know
  • To maintain operation or for error analysis, Internet traffic must be logged in certain situations (basically, not the content, but the circumstances of communication).
