Summary

We summarize the most important password rules:

  • Use secure, preferably unique passwords
  • At least eight characters long, use letters and numbers and upper and lower case letters
  • No passwords from dictionaries, no names, birth dates, etc.
  • Do not write down your password anywhere
  • Do not share your password with other people
  • Do not save your passwords in the browser or on devices
  • Log out of the respective procedure as soon as you want to end the session
  • Be alert to requests for credentials or passwords - is someone trying a social engineering attack?
  • If you receive unusual requests or attempts to contact you from supposed colleagues or supervisors, first consult with them to authenticate the person.
