• Never blindly trust email content and file attachments.
• Do not open documents and programs from people you do not know.
• If you suspect a virus infection, inform your IT representative or the service desk of the ITMC.
• Do not forward misdirected information, but inform the person who sent it and delete the email.
• If you yourself have sent a confidential email incorrectly: Ask for deletion and inform your superior person.
• If you receive a phishing e-mail: do not reply, do not click on any link, do not pass on any sensitive data, do not open any attachments.
• Send confidential data over the Internet only in encrypted form.
• Watch out for “netiket(t)e”.
• Please inform yourself about the exact regulations regarding the use of e-mail in your Authority or institution.
